What Our Clients Are Saying...
"Maureen was instrumental in my son, Lonnie Hackett, earning early acceptance into Bowdoin College. Although Lonnie is a very good student, like most 18 year olds he is somewhat of a procrastinator. I have little doubt he would have grossly underestimated the lengthy application process and/or overlooked the fast approaching deadlines. Fortunately, Lonnie fell instantly in love with Maureen’s enthusiasm and genuine concern for his future, and not wanting to disappoint her, he went to work. With Maureen’s guidance, he prepared top-notch essays and resumes. Much to his surprise, the application process required more than one essay, and because Lonnie was also interested in athletics at the college level, there was an athletic resume to prepare as well as the academic resume, not to mention the interview. Ugh!!!! Without Maureen and her staff it would have been far too overwhelming. All I have to say is, “Thank God for CPS101!" " -

"When I think of Maureen, I'm reminded of the insurance company slogans: 'You're in good hands with Maureen.'... 'Like a good neighbor, Maureen is there.' Maureen provides an excellent service and lives up to these slogans.
Her expertise and guidance provided great comfort to our son and to us as he waded through the difficult and stressful college application process."

Glen and I will always be pleased to recommend your service. Both of our children benefited from your advice and counsel which went far beyond that which could be provided by busy high school guidance counselors. Each of our children is a wonderful human being, and each is delightfully different. You recognized that right away and went to work helping each realize the right fit at the right institution. Thank you for your help!"

We wanted to let you know that Katrina found out yesterday that she was accepted early decision at Middlebury! We are all very excited and thank you for your help and confidence, especially with her resume and your ideas on teacher recommendations. It was great to have your expertise and years of guidance counselor experience on our side. It is hard to know what, and how much to include in an application. Your advice was very valuable. We will continue to recommend your services. Thanks again for all of your

"CPS 101 is a vital resource for high school students and their parents to help make the college application process less stressful and confusing. Maureen Hodge and her staff helped my son with college advising, essay writing, filling out applications, and interviewing practice. Most importantly, they did it with humor and compassion and were extremely patient with my endless questions! I’d highly recommend their services to anyone about to embark upon the college entrance process!"
Marjie Harris (Bangor parent) and Ethan Lambert (son) - Franklin and Marshall College student-Class of 2009
" When it came time for my son to apply to college, I knew we could use some help. I had been through the process with two older daughters years ago, but I realized pretty quickly that applying to college now is even more competitive and complicated.
Maureen of CPS101 quickly became my son's coach and cheerleader. She enthusiastically guided him through the application maze, offering helpful comments, timetables and advice.
Joyce and Maureen staged mock interviews and held practice sessions with my son in order to illustrate effective behaviors and responses. His 5 actual college interviews went very well, thanks to the self-confidence that he had gained from Joyce and Maureen. CPS101 certainly provided us with incredible support and invaluable guidance during what can be a very stressful time for both students and parents."
Barbara Rosenthal (Bangor parent)and Scott Rosenthal (son)- Bates College student-Class of 2007
"I knew that the college admissions process would be a very stressful time in our house and I didn't want to be the adversary. CPS 101 (Maureen and her staff) took the pressure off me---they got Ryan organized, making sure his applications were completed in a timely fashion and packaged with a professional appearance. I was amazed that all of his applications were completed way ahead of schedule, far before any college deadline.
CPS101 was truly a gift to myself! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU, Maureen!"
Pat Hannan-Smith (Hampden parent)
"As I look back on our recent experience with college applications for our sons, I wonder how we would have managed without outside consultation. Maureen Hodge and the staff of CPS101 were tremendous through the process. The ability to receive prompt responses, advice, and guidance as needed on a daily basis to meet deadlines was invaluable. This service and personal attention is not feasible nor realistic for busy high school guidance counselors. Maureen was very attentive to details of the application, essay, and resume. Preparation for the college interviews with mock sessions were also extremely beneficial. I would highly recommend Maureen Hodge and CPS101 for assistance in attaining a quality and competitive college application."
Jacques Larochelle (Bangor parent)
"Thank you very much for all your help during the application process..... The mock interviews helped tremendously. I found myself answering a lot of the questions from the mock interview in the real interview. It is so much easier to say what you want to say if you are well prepared. My interview at Bowdoin could not have gone any better!..."
Nicholas Larochelle (Bowdoin College student-Class of 2008)

I never felt like I was falling behind or was ever overwhelmed with the college applications... Thanks for everything!"
